LRH was at his best in 1953 - he had just moved to Phoenix the previous summer with Mary Sue, having left the increasingly troubled Wichita, and had completed some of the highest OT research ever attained in a new, theta environment starting a new family with Mary Sue in their new Arizona home.

From this period just before this trip to Spain, May 1953, comes an absolute gem of OT research that was re-discovered decades later and is included in the new Tech Volumes (II - p63) called THE THETA-MEST THEORY EXTENDED.

It demonstrates that a being has two terminals resident within. It explains addictions and dependencies (seeking these terminals without vs. within) and it opens up the door to understanding the solo auditing comm cycle and real OT - recovering your home universe and abilit y to bring it "here" like the great artist who impresses others with his/her vision.

I will try to post this in full, soon, but here are some gems from that May 53 writing:

"Something is better than nothing always. Any effect is better than no effect. To be nothing, to disappear or have its possessions disappear is the main terror of the thetan and is, indeed, his only terror." ... "To produce force and energy as a thetan requires two terminals. The first step in aberrating a thetan would be to convince him that his second terminal was nothing and that he "himself" was something..." ... "...This could all be called life, the search for the second self."
